Missionaries

One of our core values is world evangelism and relevant outreach to those in need. If you are a part of Full Gospel Christian Center, then you know that your prayers and financial support are making a world of difference in the lives of people both near and far. By supporting these missionaries and organizations, we are accomplishing much more together than we ever could alone.

Lighthouse Mission

The Lighthouse Mission exists to feed the hungry and help the homeless by sharing God’s love with people in need in practical ways. Our commitment is to feed the poor, but our goal is to empower people to overcome poverty and live purpose-filled lives.

Jesus said, “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full”
(John 10:10)

John & Nikki Garrett

John & Nikki Garrett

John & Nikki Garrett served in ministry through local churches as youth pastors, ministry leaders, and volunteers for over ten years. In 2010 they felt the timing and call of God to pursue their lifelong ministry dream of serving with their children in African missions. Together with their entire leader’s team from Tanzania, they completed a 12-week Advanced Missions Training in Zambia through Overland Missions.

Both John & Nikki are licensed ministers through In The Hand of God Ministries and operate under the covering of Touching Nations Today, Inc. John earned an associates degree in theology from Life Christian University. Nikki previously lived in Tanzania for three years and speaks fluent Swahili. While they now call Kigoma, Tanzania their home, John and Nikki take time every year to encourage churches across the United States by preaching the message of the Gospel and equipping the Body of Christ to fulfill the often unrealized work of adoption and inheritance that is their in Christ.

African ministry is their current assignment, but it is their relationship with Christ that drives them to see other saved everywhere to go. And while they love to be ministers, it is being bound together in marriage, and as awestruck parents of four children that is the true joy of their lives.

The ministry to the fatherless and the orphan is a call from God that is cited 40 times in His Word. This call is to be fulfilled by His Church. So what is the ministry of Long Island Youth mentoring? To borrow a picture from World War II: We are the PT boats and the Church is the battleship. We can change direction quickly; moving to the needs as they present themselves, but we are also expendable. Our job is best understood in the following statements:

  • We communicate God’s heart for the fatherless and orphan to the Church.
  • We screen potential missionaries who feel the call to this mission field.
  • We train Christians who are screened and called by God to be on this mission field.
  • We supervise and support the mentors throughout their ministry.
  • We stay in tune with what is working and what is not and we adapt our systems without sacrificing our mission.

Mission Statement:
To assist the Christian church on Long Island in the responsible evangelism of at-risk youth and their families, providing them with hope through caring relationships and developmental opportunities for the whole person (spiritual, mental, physical, social).

Richard and Sara Michalski

Richard and Sara Michalski

Our dear Brother Richard went to be with Jesus this year. We are continuing to support Sara as she so faithfully continues the work that she and Richard started so many years ago.

Richard and Sara Michalski have been the directors of Impact Ministries International for 40 years. They have had the opportunity to travel the world and minister the gospel of Jesus Christ to many nations; seeing thousands saved, healed, and changed by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Richard and Sara are children of Polish and Russian World War II refugees. This heritage coupled with God’s calling gave them a passion to penetrate the Iron Curtain and begin an evangelistic ministry. As American citizens during the time of the Cold War, the Michalski’s had the unique advantage of a Slavic background, allowing them entrance into these closed lands. During this time of spiritual oppression, the Michalski’s brought to America victorious reports of God’s

They have started thousands of churches that have been planted through their evangelistic outreaches. Richard and Sara have a heart to see God move in miraculous ways, in seeing the demonstration of the Holy Spirit; with healings, salvation, seeing people set free, and other miracles. Their ministry work is primarily in Eastern Europe, Russia, China, Panama, Mexico, and in the states.

Not only do Richard and Sara believe in the “preaching of the gospel” but understand the heart of God is to “take care of the widow and the orphan” Impact Ministries have shipped millions of pounds and dollars worth of medical supplies and humanitarian aid helping thousands of orphans and widows in Eastern Europe and Russia.

Bobby & Dianne Lloyd

Bobby & Dianne Lloyd

A native of Rockville Centre, Long Island, Bobby Lloyd has experienced first-hand what it is like to be in bondage to pornography and drugs. And as Executive Director of Long Island Citizens for Community Values, he helps others not only understand the damage pornography can do but also break its stranglehold on their lives.

While Mr. Lloyd currently works closely with law enforcement officials and politicians, he was once on the other side of the law. His role as one of the primary suppliers of heroin to Long Island and parts of New York City in the 70s and 80s landed him in prison several times and in 1976, he received a life sentence under Gov. Rockefeller’s drug law. It was during his stint in prison that Lloyd rekindled a friendship with current wife and partner Dianne, who shared with him her own experiences of breaking the stronghold of drugs. Lloyd’s behavior in prison earned him lifetime parole but after being released he quickly re-established his drug business, which continued for several more years. Finally, in 1984, he entered Brooklyn Teen Challenge, which helped him put his drug habit behind him and move into a new phase of life.

Lloyd helped pioneer Long Island’s first Teen Challenge program on Long Island and has since reached thousands of young people with a motivation message about how one man can turn his life around. As a result of his work, Lloyd received a pardon from his lifetime parole.
Since 1994, Mr. Lloyd has served as Executive Director of LICCV, works to protect women, children etc. free from the negative influences of pornography and the sexualized messages of the culture.

Sharon & MeiLing Liu

Sharon & MeiLing Liu

Sharon & her Daughter MeiLing are missionaries to China. We Believe God calls us to be an instrument in reaching out to unreached people groups. We elated seeing these people turning from their old life and surrendering wholly to God. It is heart melting to watch Philippians 2:10-11 come to pass, “That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth, and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

But, it is truly a privilege to witness with our own eyes these local believers starting to stand up in faith and commit their lives to reach out to their own people. It means quitting their jobs and pursuing the call of God on their life. This is like a “bonus” from above to see the fruit of our labor.

THE HARVEST IS PLENTIFUL, BUT THE LABORERS ARE FEW: SO, THEREFORE, PRAY THAT THE LORD OF THE HARVEST SEND OUT LABORERS INTO HIS HARVEST.
MATTHEW 9:37-38
